Where do I work?
The Observer newsroom, London (22 Berners Street) plus flexibility to work remotely 1 day per week.

What’s the job?
Working with The Observer’s experienced news team from Tuesday to Saturday, you will respond to the latest arts and media news with stories and insightful analysis across print, digital and audio platforms. You will also deliver exclusive content and interviews and speak regularly to a wide range of contacts across the cultural landscape.
This role offers the opportunity to write at length, as well as produce news stories on a quicker turnaround. You will also have the opportunity to work on long-term investigations and to contribute to The Observer’s output of popular podcasts.
Key skills include:
Experience of producing national news and features with exceptional writing skills
Proven track record in delivering exclusive media and arts stories
Extensive knowledge of the creative and media business scene across the UK
Established contacts among practitioners and arts leaders and with broadcasters and publishers
A demonstrable love of the arts and broader culture in all its forms
Key responsibilities include:
Contributing ideas for stories each week as well as longer investigations and analysis
Developing and creating relationships with key figures across the arts and media sectors
Planning coverage of key performances, events and releases throughout the year
Working closely with other reporters and sections across the newsroom, including our social media and audio teams
